Your small child sneezes and has slight fever ,
(some dust particles or some pathogens might have gone into the child’s respiratory system .)
(sneezing is the body’s defense against airborne pathogens using the force of air to get rid of the pathogens)
you take him to a doctor, and he gives some antihistamine to suppress the sneezing , plus some paracetamol (which will stimulate the sweat gland to sweat). the sneezing and fever stops….
we may think that’s it. and you may also think the medications cured the child …..
NO…. NO… the medicines have suppressed the symptoms …
fast forward a few months…. the child has developed phlegm and makes effort to cough out (the pathogen at work)…. again visit the doctor ….. now the medication is some cough syrup and if need some antibiotics… again the cough is suppressed.
coughing out is the body’s defense in getting out the pathogens using water as base……………..
the pathogens are now wrapped in mucus
fast forward a year or more the child starts whizzing…….. then you need too see some specialist .. again the same happens …suppression..
ok ok … i know .. you are saying …now what must i do or what should be done…
show by example healthy lifestyle ….
We love baby’s or infants… any child is kissable , kiss their nose….. what nose….
when the child has some sneezing or cough….. wash your mouth with some mild antiseptic…. place your mouth over one of its nose hole , while closing the other nose and mouth with your hand…. suck the nose gently and spit out the mucus or phlegm …. repeat as necessary… if the child is old enough then teach and emphasis the child to clean and blow out its nose….
Fever is the body’s mechanism of “burning away pathogens” …
If fever is high use a cool wet cloth to wipe on forehead and body
some may feel YAK yucky at this…. Then you know how much you love your child…
Clearing the phlegm by normal means is the most important factor in curing… not suppressing the symptoms
